Awesome idea! Very creative!

I like how you would allow the students to use different types of media to show what they have learned.

This would fit with so many objectives on the course of study!

It is a good idea to have a sample.

Would the students work on this project during library time?

Would they be allowed to borrow the cameras, etc. for home?

This would be good for the librarian and classroom teacher to pair up on.

3-C'S: Nice brochure!, Super project idea w/ interviews!, Well organized!

2-Q's: Could you incorporate other subject curriculum? Scientists? People in History? Could students create PowerPoint as well?

1-S: Timeline could be extended as long as needed or wanted. Students could interview many people.

-This is a wonderful idea of a way for students to connect with an older person in their family!
-Excellent way to introduce biographies and get them interested in the topic.
-I think the students will enjoy the collaboration between the schools.
2 questions:
-How will the collaboration (communication) take place between the two schools?
-What will your instruction look like?
1 suggestion:
Take the time to really make this project work and make it work well, because it sounds like a REALLY good idea and I think it could progress into something the students will enjoy and learn a lot from. GREAT JOB!!

I love the idea of bringing the community into the classroom.

Students will really benefit from learning interviewing skills.

Your use of technology in this plan will engage the students!

Could you have an event at school to bring people in so the students could interview (like a community fair)?

Would students video the interview to also get some communication skills?

I agree that it is a great way for teachers to work together - including the tech teacher.

I like your idea! Your students should enjoy this project. I'm sure they'll learn a lot.

How many people will each child interview?

Will they submit a list of prospective people they wish to interview or will they be assigned those to interview?

You may want to have them publish in a local paper.

Nice brochure!
Good ideas
Good way to motivate the students to really listen to and get to know each other.

How big would the groups be that the students are working in?

Could you use a school personality (principal, lunch room lady) as a practice interviewee?

How early in the year would you begin this project?

If they do an interview of an older person, they could try to include a picture of that person when they were the same age as the interviewer.
