This has been a good way to get started on the project. The standards and CFQ are what will guide my whole project and have helped me zero in on what is important for my unit.
Working on this plan has made me realize the importance of using questions to allow children to think for themselves. Also, I had a framework of how to do a project like this using all available technologies.
It helps me think about what I am trying to get the students to accomplish, and how I can help them really know what information I am seeking from them.
It has helped me really think about the needs of my students and formulate some deep comprehension strategies using technology that I know they will enjoy and learn a lot from.
It has reminded me that I need to refer often to the standards when creating assignments for my students. I also need to keep these standards in mind when making test for my students so that I am able to make sure that the standards are covered completely.
My perception is that I am more of a left-brain dominant person. When I am involved with this type activity, it makes me think that I am being forced to use that dusty right side that makes me feel so inadequate. Any forced activity induces stress. So, Module 2 has increased my stress level exponentially. Other than that, I am enjoying seeing all the other folks who know what they are doing have fun with this stuff.
*I sometimes have an idea and begin teaching before I have thought things through...but realizing the big picture (CFQ's) is vital to quality instruction...especially where technology integration is involved :-)
This module helped me really think about what it is I want the students to learn by asking questions, how to go about assessing what they already know - and ways to connect to the students' different learning styles through the planning of different activities and assessments that will meet the needs of the individual student.
Learning to access and use the standards in an online format has been extremely helpful in identifying the exact goals that I have for my students. CFQs and assessments have shown me effective higher order thinking skills to use with the students.
As a new teacher, this module has helped me learn how to create formative assesments which include student technology use in the classroom. It has also helped me to brainstorm different ways to integrate my COS standards with technology-based projects for the students.

It has reinforced the idea of "backword planning," which begins the key concepts you want the students to know at the end of the unit and then helps you create a plan and assessments that guage the students needs that will allow them to achieve mastery of the topic.
Module 2 has helped me focus in my outcomes...objectives....questioning of students for this project... creating the power point constructed an umbrella to build my project on and around....
I've learned a lot so far in INTEL with Janet. It IS a "journey!" Thanks to those sitting beside me for helping me through!! We do learn best by doing and from each other! ...look forward to the next leg of journey!!
This process has helped me think of the BIG PICTURE, rather than individual daily lessons. P.B.L. incorporates real world scenarios to what students will face in solving problems in the A.G. period...after graduation...it makes lessons make sense! As a MATH teacher, I welcome the logical progression of the unit plans. Step by Step...that's my way!
